Bring your pupils along for a visit to the puppet theatre and discover all that the theatre has to offer.
Many nurseries, playgroups, schools, and after-school groups have visited the theatre over many years since the theatre opened in 1986.
The theatre
Coach parking on site with place for 3 coaches. Upon arrival the children can explore and enjoy the play area and lawn with picnic tables. (Welcome to bring your own games) – Very safe and enclosed walled garden. If weather is poor we have space in our conservatory tearoom to eat your own packed lunches. We have a lovely tearoom with cappuccinos; tea’s and cakes etc. for the teachers to enjoy!

The theatre holds an audience of 100 adults and children, which makes a special experience if you would like to book the theatre just for your school! (Min 80)
The performances encourage imaginative play and are full of classical as well as pop music for the children to join in and clap along too.
The Educational value of our performances is enormous, from an artistic point of view, literature and moral – children can talk about puppets beforehand, make puppets at school and perform with them which makes them very eager to come to our puppet theatre. Puppets can open all sorts of conversations and encourage shy children to come out of their shell. Many children with different abilities really can enjoy puppets, with visually impaired children being able to see our glow- in- the-dark puppets, to autistic children saying their first words or sounds.
Performances last 90 mins including 15 min interval and meeting the puppets afterwards!

We have a puppet shop with pocket money items and souvenirs (suggested amount £5)

The Theatre has two age groups of show –
For ages 1-7 years “Pips and Panda” have many adventures including a Christmas themed adventure. Lots of songs, slapstick comedy and no baddies!!
For ages 5 – 105!
Our Fairytale Pantomimes such as Cinderella, Aladdin or Nessie the Loch Ness Monster for example, suit the whole primary age group. Just check our schedule for what play is happening next!
School prices are £6 per head (1 Adult free per 10 Children) with in school times Mon-Fri (10.30am – 3.00pm)
After school hours, evening performances and weekends
£6.50 per head (1 Adult free per 10 Children)
(6.00pm – 9pm)
When you book we need 20% upfront and the rest is payable 1 month before show date.
This gives us time to sell any spare tickets.
